But Jesus intervened: "Kings like to throw their weight around and people in authority like to give themselves fancy titles. It's not going to be that way with you. Let the senior among you become like the junior; let the leader act the part of the servant.
27-30"Who would you rather be: the one who eats the dinner or the one who serves the dinner? You'd rather eat and be served, right? But I've taken my place among you as the one who serves. And you've stuck with me through thick and thin. Now I confer on you the royal authority my Father conferred on me so you can eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and be strengthened as you take up responsibilities among the congregations of God's people.

It's a weird thing when you're inside a room full of Leaders who don't know how it is to serve, especially in church. I think nothing would be accomplished because of all the lingering ideas and visions. Can you think of an army full of generals? who would fight the battle?

I think a good balance between the two is necessary.,.,., Leading but knowing how to Serve.

Jesus was serving the disciples at the time of the passage above. But was He the least of them? I guess not.,.,

Lead.,.,Yes.,.,. But FOLLOW also.,.,.,

Cyrus Laroco wins our RED contest.  His "Red Page Heart" photo garnered 42 votes.  Congratulations, Cyrus! 

I learned a technique about indroducing yourself from the Today show. It's when you get introduced, meet the person halfway then reach out to shake the hand of the person you're getting introduced to. In that way,you show your confidence.
Our fathers taught us not to get intimidated easily. It is the confidence not in what we can do but in what God can do. Bacause at the end of the day we all are "equal". God sees us the same.
I tried the technique i learned from the show. I think the person got the surprise of his life.
As i was being introduced, i stood up from my desk and went halfway towards this person to shake hands. The person looked at me from head to foot! as if trying to examine me first before shaking my hand! i saw hesitation. But i went on to shake hands firmly. I wasn't going to be intimidated, especially not by this person.
Don't get me wrong though, i respect authority. It's the arrogance i don't like. I've seen people in high places and they don't act the same way this person treated me. For example, a few years back, we met the President, as we reached out to shake her hand we didn't see hesitation but believe it or not we saw her sincerity in thanking us for the song we did for the ASEAN conference. (don't worry we got paid too...)
We all have our places of expertise. I don't think it's right for us to treat one another with such prejudice. After all as Philippians 4:13 says "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
We all get our abilities from the same place. Though different, nothing is less than the other.

I love House MD..,.,
His truthfulness stuns me at times. 
His truthfulness results in rudeness.
But there was this one episode where his patient has a neurological disorder where he cannot lie.  Everything turns into disarray when he speaks; his wife gets hurt because of all his comments about her not being too bright. His daughter suffers the same consequence. Even the doctors that treat him get sidelined by all his remarks. Out of his desperation he undergoes a procedure that in the end is unsuccessful. He remains truthful and rude. The next thing you notice is his efforts to be isolated.
Isolation it seems was the only way for him not to get in trouble.
So now I see truthfulness as a gun.
Use it wisely or defensively and it becomes an ally. Become trigger happy and you end up killing everyone in sight.
One day you’ll find yourself alone and bitter.
So there.
Be polite.,.,
Say the right things whenever the situations arise but also learn to see if the timing is right.
And maybe the world will be a better place.
 

Salamat sa lahat ng naki-salo at bumati sa birthday ko. It was a real great time!
Having all of you yesterday kept my sanity last a bit longer.
These are trying times i know, but when this is all over I hope we can all look back and laugh and say we went through it together.

1) i used to love basketball,i used to score a lot then they would start the game all over again without me

2) i got my face stuck between the doors of the MRT when i tried to outrun it

3) i love cadbury's fruit and nut

4) i played with E-heads drummer Raymond, he had a band called Planet Garapata, we played in miriam college variety show

5) i played with Barbie Almalbis may'08

6) i played drums for MYMP 3 times last year

7) i was blessed enough to have played in 25 or more gospel albums, produced 3 of them and played bass in 1 of them

8) i sang, yes sang in a jingle we made for Cossak Vodka, it never made the airwaves

9) our band played after South Border in one concert, it was one of the most embarrassing moments of our lives

10) i love setting up saltwater aquariums

11)i sang our Solfeggio finals in college, after 2 hours classes were dissmissed due to a storm

12)i sleep belly down on the bed

13)i love coffee, especially strong ones that as my wife says "tastes like wood"

14) i only order iced cafe mocha or cafe mocha or mint tea in starbucks

15) i love chai latte from coffee bean

16)i inherited the love of electronics from my dad who is an electronics technician

17)i installed a car radio in our first car, our car almost burned because of it

18)i love taking photographs,

19)i went on a date one time and ordered fruit salad, we talked for a few minutes and my date finished it all

20) i had a crush on a friend, asked her out on a date, then she came to school with her boyfriend the next day

21)apol and i went steady for 5 years before getting married

23)we love watching TV series (lost,bones,pushing daisies,prison break,heroes,house md,grey's anatomy)

24)we're suddenly a musical family, i play drums and bass,my bro lester plays drums,my bro Boo plays guitar,my sis KC plays bass,
my sis Cy used to play keys, my wife Apol sings, and my daughter Mims sings too)o yeah and my mom dances.,.,

25)i still use the same slippers i bought the first day Apol and i got married....

Mims and i went on a date, Apol was in Baguio and we both needed some cheering up so we went out.It was a last minute change of plans, instead of going to DQ we went to Nestle's Ice Cream House.A few minutes in, a churchmate approaches me and after a few minutes of saying Hi's and Hello's,they sit a few steps from us. A few more minutes pass and she approaches me again, shakes my hand and says that she has been waiting a long time for this chance to bless me. She says not to give it back so they may also be blessed. I thankfully agreed.

So there it goes, a valentines date with my daughter...
Apparently God also wanted to join in the fun. I mean, what were the chances of me changing my mind and meeting them? Whew!

And so every love song made sense, and it was God constanly reminding us that He loved us.
Valentines nga and God went with us on this perfect date.

I found it hard to watch the latest season of Heroes. It was hard to see Hiro and Peter lose their powers. There was this one part where one of them said that the situation would be easier if Hiro had his powers.
Ever experienced knowing the solution to something but powerless to act it?
I realized that revenge is sweet but vindication is sweeter. Sometimes it’s just darn hard to wait. It’s giving me headaches!

So here it is…
I hope to see the day of deliverance…
I know it’s coming…
I hope to see true friends standing by my side when the day comes…
I know they will be….

Just watched the Season 2 episode 9  of Heroes. It just blew me away.
It's almost the same situation with what's going on...
The lines are drawn and now you know who not to trust.
The question is... What side are you on?
IT'S COMING!

Surprised...
Annoyed...
Pissed off...
Frustrated...

and there's nothing anybody can do about it....

A small girl asked for some coins from us tonight. She said she was hungry and didn’t have anything to eat.  We just told her to come back after a few minutes. She goes to another part of the restaurant where a man asks her name, how old she was, where her parents were and if they had anything to eat.

A few minutes go by and the little girl walks away with takeout Chinese food in her hand. As it turns out, the man at the counter bought her food. As he took the food he ordered and walks out to go home, the girl and her mom politely approaches and says thanks.

As we were eating our crab omelet, sisig and chicken noodles, I remember that our dinner came from Dad. We didn’t have food left in the house so Dad gave us some money for dinner.

Two stories of provisions.,.,

Different but the same.

We didn’t ask for the money for our dinner and was capable of paying our bill but Dad provides us with some…well a lot actually.

A little girl who asked for some spare change and gets a whole meal for her family from a man she didn’t even know.

I was grateful…

To God for providing…

For two people who heeded the call of God to provide…

And now all I ask for is the capacity and ability to do the same…
